Otley Parish Church Bells

The bells at Otley Parish Church have rung out for over 268 years. They currently ring for Sunday services, weddings, funerals, and to mark special events, such as the Tour de France passing through the town in 2014!

The current peal of 8 bells was first hung in 1922, having been recast from the previous set cast in 1781. By 2015 the bells were still serviceable, but in need of expert attention to prevent any damage.

This work cost £28,565 which was raised in time for the work to be undertaken in Autumn 2017. Read more on the 'Restoration update' page.

Otley Parish Church Bellringers

The team comprises a number of very experienced bellringers, and a healthy number of learners. Practice night each Thursday offers the opportunity for everyone to hone their skills and visitors from other towers are welcomed.

In May 2016 a six-strong team (see below) took part in the Yorkshire Association of Change Ringers Western Branch Striking Competition at Northowram finishing a commendable fourth overall, and winning the Call Change Cup.
